After a nice walk we popped in to the café in the area, 'Cafe 19 at Whites' which is in a pretty village called Calver. I had read that if it's busy there's usually a long wait, but even though the café was fairly busy today, we still managed to get a seat and after a quick look at the menu we got served straight away.

The aftermath of Halloween was still on show with pumpkin decorations. It won't be long before the decorations are swapped for Christmas ones. Time flies so quickly these days.

We ordered a latte and a black americano. It was a good cup of coffee. I also liked their cups and saucers. They looked very rustic. They only allow paying customers to have access to the toilet. If you need to go, you have to ask for a code number which I found quite funny. Nobody walking off the streets here!

Even though it is autumn it was quite warm today. In fact, it was like summer had returned. We did fancy a hearty meal though, so we chose a bowl of lentil soup, sourdough bread and butter. I can't remember all the other ingredients but it was scrummy. Everything is locally sourced. It was probably the best soup I've ever tasted. It certainly beats tinned soup. I could have easily had a second bowl along with another coffee, but that would have been greedy!
