While I do like to support small local coffee shops, I still enjoy the diverse menu at Mugg & Bean, a successful coffee shop franchise. Delicious food - generous meal portions, freshly baked goods, and of course, the wide range of excellent coffees and coffee-based drinks - House Blend or Mocha Java. Serious and Easy Cappuccino. Something new on their menu is a Sticky Toffee Latte - a single shot Espresso with texturised milk and a mini pecan toffee pudding; super indulgent!
And, on a hot day, I order a Chino Muggachino, the very best iced coffee!
They're found in prime locations at popular shopping malls and other venues, and take their coffee seriously, as they do with the food they serve.
Who can resist the aroma of muffins and other cakes baking? Especially when it's chocolate muffins.
Yes, they bake goods on-site. The oven is located right behind the front counter.
Simply irresistible! It's like a magnet, can't walk past that, right?
They serve scrumptious light meals, delectable cakes, and giant muffins. Everything they serve is larger than life. One helping of just about anything on their menu is enough for two people. When a group of ladies meet up, you will often see them sharing - just ask for extra cutlery and a plate.
We sometimes order a savoury and a sweet dish and split them and end up with a main and a dessert for two.
And, of course, order bottomless coffee if you're there for endless conversations!
My young friend is nursing a fractured ankle but that did not stop her from making my birthday a special one. I told you about that a couple of days ago. This time I'm sharing our experience at the coffee shop.

We both needed some comfort food to 'nurse' our injuries.
Cappuccino is what I always order here, their coffee is VERY good. But, it was a birthday so a Chococinno sounded more indulgent - delish hot chocolate with a shot of Espresso and a creamy foam topping.

My friend ordered a Chicken Mayo & Coleslaw Sourdough Toastie served with crispy Chips, too much for one person. Josh passed her takeaway onto me - supper was sorted.
Yes, and the Lemon Meringue Pie was my choice!
A massive slice and delectable! Sweet lemony filling on a crisp pastry base, topped with a mountain of fluffy meringue!

We were so intent on catching up and enjoying our food and drinks in our far corner, that we didn't realize Mugg & Bean was emptying. Staff were cleaning up, readying the shop for the next morning's breakfast rush. Many come here for meetings before going to the office.
We had overstayed our welcome, the shop was deserted by the time we walked out, but the staff and manager did not mind and cheerily said their goodbyes!
