RE: Confiteria la Ideal in Buenos Aires

I went to Café Tortoni when I visited Buenos Aires, and while it's the most famous and is very nice, I think this one is much more impressive. Its interior decoration is exquisite! And those pastries they served look fabulous too 😋.

I wouldn't pay that much for some photos either...

Did you have to queue up long to get into Café Tortoni? And what was the food last like?

The main reason I wanted to visit was because people always mention it, and I hadn't come across any other names. Since my visit, I read there's an official list of iconic cafés so I'm sure many are equally or perhaps even better. I don't mind that I never made it to Café Tortoni because I enjoyed it at Cafe Ideal.

I was surprised to see that there was a line to get in. When I went, I didn't have to wait. As for the food, it was good, we also had coffee and some delicious pastries with cream and chocolate.

Apparently, all the old cafés in Buenos Aires are good. I went to a couple more and liked them.
