Being sick for weeks isn’t exactly the most exciting chapter in anyone’s life. But the previous weekend, the weather was calling, and I couldn’t resist the urge to step outside, even though my body wasn’t fully on board with the idea.
Armed with my camera and a heavy dose of determination, I went for a walk. It wasn’t a grand trek—more like a shuffle with frequent pit stops every 500 meters. But in those small, slow steps, I found moments of beauty that made it all worthwhile.
Fungi clinging to tree trunks, vibrant leaves scattered like nature’s confetti, and even a lone berry clinging to life on a thorny branch—it all felt like a reminder to notice the small things, even when you’re not at your best.
Sure, I wasn’t running a marathon (I was barely walking one mile), but I came home with a memory card full of stunning photos and a little more gratitude for the healing process.
Sometimes, it’s okay to go slow. You might still surprise yourself with what you find.
