I played my last day of pickleball before my surgery on Sunday with some friends I made from pickleball. They took me to a nice Chinese restaurant and treated me for lunch. I have posted the photos of the food below. I think my favorite dish was the watermelon with pork. They also somehow ordered my favorite vegetable which is spinach. The fish with the soup was great as well; I think it was a grouper fish.
After lunch, they took me to a famous Buddhist temple in Klang. They wanted to pray for my surgery. Even though, I'm not the biggest religious person I do like some of the teaching form Buddhism and just tagged along for the prayers.
This was me right after the surgery. Honestly, I remember changing into my operation outfit without underwear. It felt very weird for me not to wear underwear. They pushed me while I was on the bed to the operation room. I remember they injected the general anesthesia and had me breath in and out of an oxygen mask. Before I knew it, I knocked out and the surgery was over. I didn't really feel much pain but I don't think I will ever want to go through this experience again anytime soon.
I just got discharged today. I went to a government hospital and the subsidy for Malaysian citizens is insane. I think the total I spent for everything for my hospital visits, surgery, ward and food came out to a total of RM60ish.
I can't wait to recover and get back into pickleball. I have quite a few people already messaging about doing some coaching and drilling for them. I will probably start back in two weeks for coaching but probably won't play actively until my bone has recovered enough since there's almost no bone near my left jaw. They said it would take a few months to fully heal.
