Our health as humans is so important and I would say that we should try to give it our topmost priority. Many times we look after our wealth but we forget to look after our health. In the end, the wealth we are trying to sustain might later get to be spent on our health again.
To me, I don't joke with my health in any way, though I may not be that wealthy, but I love to live my life in such a way that I don't even have time to stress myself over things I shouldn’t. Once I realize this thing would be a burden on me and not okay with my body system, I drop it off immediately. The fact that we only live once remains constant.
I could recall vividly my dad telling us to always put ourselves first because once you are gone even your dearest wife and kids would live on happily. You might just be remembered once in a while.
In the olden times, I do wonder how they get to live so long, and most times the young ones dying are always above 50 to 60 years at minimum. Most times they live on to over 80 years, 90 years and some even go above 100 years. But nowadays if you manage to clock 60 years of age then you have tried.
I realized that they always have things in order, they have their local herbs, they eat fresh food from the farm, vegetables and fruits in abundance, fresh fish from the waterbody, balanced diets, and also they get themselves exercised by going to the farm.
Nowadays we eat a lot of junk food, preservatives and canned foods, little or no fruits and vegetables, mostly carbohydrates and lastly, most of us really lack exercise, we just go to work and get back home and the cycle keeps on repeating itself.
I have some healthy tips I found useful to me.
Sleep more
I realised that over time it's better to allow oneself to sleep more and have more time for the brain to settle. It's not really about sleeping too much, but at least there should be time to sleep and have more rest too. Having enough sleep brings about improved memory and reduces stress levels.
Walk more
Most times we find walking as a form of punishment or suffering game, we can just take bikes, or vehicles and get to where we are going in no time. But to me, I find walking even enough as an exercise, as it strengthens the bones and also increases cardiovascular fitness.
Most times when we walk there is a tendency that we get our body fat and create a balance with our body weight. At times when I don’t have to get to my destination in a hurry I would always prefer to walk. But once I have to get there in a hurry or the distance is just too far, then I have no option but to go on a bike or vehicle. Another thing is that most time I feel safe from fatal accidents while I walk compared to going in automobiles.
In conclusion, all of these are important to our health, but once they get in excess then we might be deprived of the benefits of doing them. Instead, we get our health disturbed.
