Hello everyone, welcome to creative Sunday and happy Sunday to you all.
Christmas is full of excitement, preparation and anticipation, just like the food. The usual fried rice with chicken or joff rice with chicken is usually in anticipation for Christmas. But today it was something different, something out of the ordinary. It was porridge beans with unripe plantain for this creative-Sunday.

Notwithstanding the fact that I prepared beans, the usual eating of rice got me tired. I heard my neighbor say on Christmas day he will prepare nsala soup for his family.

Without wasting much time, I will list the different tools I used for preparation coupled with other compliments. I used a big pot, firewood was my source of heat( I love food cooked with firewood, it has this unique taste different from other sources of heat) . I used spoons, sieve and other relevant tools.

Drop down of the Ingredients

• Maggi for taste
• Pepper
• Salt

Furthermore, it's a method of preparation.

Step1

First of all I made sure my pot was clean after which I measured 8 cups of beans. I picked it one after the other to remove stones and other impurities associated with it. I went to make my fire, my firewood was already cut out so it is just to align them and make my fire.

Step 2

I put some amount of salt under before putting my beans together with water, reasons for putting salt first; It makes my beans cook faster and get done easier and also the beans have a unique taste.

Step 3

After it has boiled for some time, I wash off the water before cooking for the second time. It didn't take long for my beans to get done.

Step 4

I will peel off the back my unripe plantain while the back of the plantain I will sun dry it which I will be using to make potash.

Step 5

I will cut my Unripe plantain into smaller sizes. After which I will wash my unripe plantain and put into my already done beans coupled with other ingredients- red oil, crayfish, onions, pepper, salt and maggi and allow it to cook.

Step 6

After it has cooked for some time, I turn it all together and taste for salt and maggi.

My porridge beans with unripe plantain is done. A whole meal for me, I love this recipe because of the method I use for its preparation. Mine usually gives this unique taste if you're not there during the preparation. Just by its taste you will surely know who prepared it.
