Listening to news is one of my hobbies. This is as a result of the fact that I studied history at the university. As such, when I surf the internet, one of the things I look for is news. Now, just that one kind of news. News about local politics, market, events like sports, and also discoveries. In our world today, it is easy to find the Gen Zs who careless about the local politics. But for me, I like to know what happening in my environment.
One thing that affects what we listen to or watch is our age. I could remember, it is just like yesterday how I loved Votron, a cartoon action series like Batman. Then, my father would always tune the television station to watch the new line on NTA. Today, it's happening to me. My children feel the same way too. When I take over the remote control and switch to a news channels, you can see the dissatisfaction written all over their faces.
We Are Blessed Than Our Ancestors
In our time, their are different media through which one can get news. Unlike in the days of our fathers when they listen to news late in the afternoon and night, in our time, the news headlines pop up like adverts on our phones. All we need do is to read it up via the internet.
I can tell that most news on print are already stale news as one who is internet compliant must have read the news before it is printed in hard copy.
I rely mostly on the internet for supply of news though I don't make that channel my final stop at verifying the news. So, what I do is to follow a blog page that has been consistent in supplying the news immediately they confirm it. Good enough, there are tens of such online news channels where you can get the real first-hand information.
Another thing we need to understand about news is that the journalist or reporter who is airing the news may not have a detailed information about the news but the truth is that it happened.
In Every Rumour There Is An Iota of Truth.
It is either it has happened before or that it happened and some.dolls somewhere are trying to keep it from the public. For instance, there were rumour that Napoli FC wasn't happy about Victor Osimhen's intention to leave the club that why they want to frustrate the process of signing him elsewhere. This news got to the public via a Facebook page before it was later written in sports newspapers whatnot.
Social Media News Is The Best
Do you know that there is no perfect system. Hence, do not expect to have a perfect news all the time. In the twenty-first century, social media has played a pivot role is dissemination information or news to the public for little or at no cost at all. From Twitter (X) to Facebook to Instagram to Linkedin and many more, you can see the news or call it breaking news of some of the most active happenings of the moment.
To say the least, ninety per cent of news that are shared on social media today becomes headline news the following day. What a world we live in.
