Hello, hiveans ! Hope all are healthy.
Today I am sharing a recipe of Sabudana Tikki i.e Sago or Tapioca pearls tikki.
Sabudana tikki are pan fried patties, which are made up of sago, mashed potatoes , crushed peanuts and spices. The sabudana are small white pearls type in shape. Most people deep fry the patties but here I am doing shallow fry with few spoon of oil.
We used to make it , when we are having Fasting for a day like Shivartri, Krishna Janmasthi or Navaratri etc.
On 16th August we have celebrated Janmasthi so I made tikkis for that.
Lets see how to make these Patties.
INGREDIENTS
🔸️Mashed potatoes w
🔸️topiaca pearls-½cup
🔸️ginger- grated ⅓tbsn
🔸️green chilies -2
🔸️black pepper-⅓tspn
🔸️salt-according to the taste
🔸️coriander-2tbspn
🔸️chat masala-¼tspn
🔸️lemon juice-½tsp
🔸️crushed peanuts-½cup
🔸️ oil/ghee- for shallow fry
METHOD
Rinse the sabudna and soak it in water covering them above from 2 inches for overnight. Depending on the quality of sabudana. Some sabudana we can soak it for 4 hours too.
So check the instructions written in the packet.
Then drain the water.
Now in a bowl take sabudana.
Add crushed peanuts.
Further add Green chilli, blackpepper
Add mashed potatoes, salt, chat masala and lemon juice.
Then mix all well .
Now take a pan.
2.Heat oil or ghee in a pan.
2.then form a shape of patties from the mixture. Not so thick and too thiñ.
Place all the tikkis in a plate.
Now place 4 to 6 tikkis for frying according to your pan space.
When one side is brown in colour then flip it and pan fry the other side.
Cook it well from both the sides till it become crispy.
Cook all the patties like this.
Transfer it in a plate and serve hot with green coriander chutney.
I hope you will enjoy this less oily and easy to make patties in this cozy weather with you beloved.
