Hi, hive learners! It's Creative Sunday, so I decided to be creative with my cooking. Recently I have been so tired eating almost the same meals over and over. Where I live the most available and staple food is rice, and it is our daily go-to food.
But, today I decided to make rice but not the regular white rice and stew/sauce. I took my phone and searched for some rice recipe inspirations and I found a recipe for garlic rice. I recently have been adding garlic and ginger into my food after realizing the numerous health benefits. So I decided to make garlic rice, yay!
For me to make garlic rice, I need unsalted butter, chicken broth, garlic, salt, rice, and parsley for dressing. However, I was unable to get the specified ingredients in the recipe so I had to use something similar. For my ingredients, I use vegetable oil instead of unsalted butter, a seasoning cube mixed with water instead of chicken broth, a single garlic instead of a clove of garlic, onions, basil instead of parsley, salt, and the main ingredients, rice.
Step one: prepping my ingredients
I minced my garlic, I sliced my onions and vegetables. And washed my rice.
Step two: cooking
I add two spoons of oil and saute my minced garlic and sliced onion into the oil. since my pan is not nonstick and did not add rice to the oil as per the recipe.
I added my seasoning cube mixed with water into the pot and added salt to it. I added my rice and cook for about 15 minutes.
After the rice was done I added the basil leaves I chopped and covered for about 30 seconds.
Step three: serving
I then mixed it and served it with pepper stew and beef.
I love the taste of the garlic and onions in the rice, though the taste would have been better if I followed the recipe fully, so I will try again another time with the full ingredients. I also love the aroma, it is amazing and so inviting.
I am glad I get to try a new recipe, and even try it more often.
Thank you for reading my post, hope you enjoyed it ✨❤️
