I can't buy hive in Canada. What I do I use a platform called Shakepay to buy BTCs, they transfer BTC out of the platform covering the fees. Hive engine receives the BTC, I sell it for swap.hive and done.
Way out I was using either LTC or BCH at hive engine to coinbase and withdrawing it.
But lately I wrote a post testing v4v.app to transfer HBD directly into BTC lightining network. I paid a credit card bill using a platform in here that receives through lightining network creating invoices to pay bills, transferring to bank account and other things.
