I had to travel the week prior for work. I caught some horrible cold in San Antonio and brought it back home. So this week will be a very short walk from my car to a restaurant lol.

My method for kicking a cold is to eat Southern Indian food that is loaded with spices. Neehees is a great place to source this food.

This cold was so bad I thought of heading into the old mangey dog's pub and swilling loads of tequila. Probably not a good idea lol.

A little bonus mushroom find in the tree planter before heading into the restaurant.

These are winter mushrooms. A nice edible mushroom but I would not harvest them from a tree planter in a parking lot, too much car brake dust and pollution.

When I brought over the dosa my daughter was quite excited about it.

She instantly grabbed a piece to eat. Little did she know it was spicy. Her face turned a bit red and looked a bit concerned but then she reached for another piece. Thankfully she seems to love spicy food. Between the ultra spicy samosas and dosa I knocked out the last of my cold.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

BYOS - bring your own 'shrooms I'm sure enough peppers will kill anything bad from that planter 🙂
Glad to see you are bringing up your daughter right 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Those bonus shrooms would have been a good add to the dosa. But who knows how much vomit from the mangey dog pub got into them.... yikes

My kid is gonna be eating vindaloo before I know it.

One of my long time employees visited China a couple of times a year and always brought me back a hot chili sauce from Hong Kong. Then I found it at 99 Ranch so I could get it more often but it did beg the question 🤔 from Hong Kong? or not?

Probably made in Mexico then shipped to Hong Kong and to 99 Ranch. Reminds me of the New York City salsa commercials.

I wouldn't wish a cold on anyone, given that when you have the flu, your body hardly responds and it's hard to get moving. I'm not surprised that you don't want to walk or only take a short walk.
What a great idea to fight the cold with foods full of spices, it's the first time I've read something similar.
It's incredible that your daughter can like spicy foods, she is very brave to do so.
Thank you very much dear friend @sketch.and.jam for sharing this experience, I hope that when you read this comment, you are in better health

It works like a charm. Another good dish for killing colds are thai green curry meals. Its something similar to eating black pepper straight but it works lol. My daughter fortunately inherited my tolerance for spice.

Sorry to hear you got sick, get well soon. 🍀
Hahaha nope… probably not a good idea to do.

Aawww so cute, and she reached for more even though a bit spicy. That’s good to develop other tastes.

She once grabbed some wasabi from my sushi and ate it, her face turned really red that time but she didn't cry. The dosa must have tasted tame compared to that lol.

Really wow 😯
It must have tasted tame indeed. !LOL

The more spice the better. Sure beats my old trick of eating raw garlic.
