Hi Galen: The inventing words thing reminded me of a character in a novel (La Colmena) by a Spanish writer (Camilo José Cela). This character is an inventor of words who, in a scene of the movie based on the book, said: "I invent words, but one by one. And I give them to others. I never use them myself. I limit myself to enriching the national lexicon. That's my mission!" To which another character in the novel added: "Matías is a supplier of language raw material.
