This is my post for #freewriters 2484 prompt lead me to the riches hosted by @mariannewst

For most of my adult life, I have struggled to pay bills. I have never wanted anything to lead me to the riches I have always just wanted to not worry about how I would pay the next bill.

In the early 2000s, I had just that, it was when we were growing clams and selling them. The work was hard and long days, but it was the most money we had ever made. I never worried about the bills.

we grew these from the size of beach sand
In 2012 the river crashed, and things started dying all the way down to the type of algae that the clams ate. We lost 50,000.00 dollars worth of clams. It took several years before the right kind of algae returned and by then the only people who could still grow them were the people who had the money to get back into it. We had to return to fishing for a living but now fishing was harder because there were fewer fish. We were back to wondering how the next bill was going to get paid. Somehow we were always able to pay them even though sometimes they were a little late.

Now that we are old and get a social security check every month that helps pay the bills things are a little easier. The one thing about us is we have never bought anything on credit, we saved the money for the things we needed and paid cash so our only bills are, electricity, car insurance, internet and TV, and property taxes on our home which is paid for, and our cell phones that cost us 20 dollars each every 3 months. We can get by on a small amount of money and there is no longer pressure as to how we are going to pay the next bill. Money-wise, life is good.

I'm so glad to hear that the Lord, out of HIS riches, keeps you going like He keeps me going ... it is good that you are past even needing to be concerned about it ... and do not forget that you have a little help coming from Hive if the Lord will permit the crypto markets to turn around!

Thank you, I am grateful for Hive but I would rather let my son use my earnings from it.

Well, that works too! I have a few friends on Hive looking out for children and grandchildren -- that's a blessing!

Congratulations @myjob! You received a personal badge!

Happy Hive Birthday! You are on the Hive blockchain for 6 years!

You can view your badges on your board and compare yourself to others in the Ranking

Well written

thank you @saimgopang34

pay now means pain now, but pay later means pain later. Shiny new toys is not enough fun to offset the pain of payments and interest! I'm glad my parents taught me to avoid signing myself away on payment plans early on. It's meant going without, but not in the "my stuff got repossessed by people I owe" kind of way. Honest poverty is better than fake wealth and a Mastercard bill. But living paycheck-to-paycheck ain't fun.

You have smart parents. I see so many young people that are buried in debt. living paycheck to paycheck ain't fun, but it is a lot better than being in debt. And now that we are old, it is nice to be debt-free.
