My Story: The Joy In Grandma's Heart
“Grandma, what are you doing? When did you become a photographer? You even have a camera!” asked Linda as she saw her grandmother brought out a camera and was getting set to capture them.
“My baby, take a good posture, I was to capture your photograph.”, answered Madam Joyce.
The graduation proper had ended and everyone went to celebrate with their respective guests. Linda and her people went to celebrate equally. Madam Joyce had rented an event center for the celebration. It was time for photographs and they all went out for the photography. The professional photographer who was hired did his job well. Then Madam Joyce brought out a new camera from her bag and wanted to take a picture of Linda.
Everyone was surprised to see that Madam Joyce, Linda’s grandma had acquired a new camera just to take a photograph of Linda at her graduation. This made them all laugh and made fun of Madam Joyce.
Linda’s graduation ceremony was such a big event. Madam Joyce, Linda’s grandmother had prepared everything and got all that was to be done for the ceremony to be a grand one. The ceremony was graced by several guests. Mr/Mrs Andrew had invited their colleagues from their various workplaces and their neighbors to celebrate with them over the joy of their daughter's graduation. Everyone was happy and the ceremony went well. There were many items for reception and celebration.
Madam Joyce was extra happy to witness the graduation ceremony of her granddaughter. The joy in Madam Joyce's heart was great. Many of the people present at the ceremony didn't know Madam Joyce was exceptionally happy. She had invited every dignity she knew and had made a lot of cooking and purchased quite a lot of drinks. Even Mr Andrew, her son, was shocked with the way her mother spent on Linda’s graduation ceremony.
“Mom, it's only a graduation ceremony! Must you go this far? Must you spend this much? I think you are taking this thing too far.”, queried Mr Andrew.
“Leave me alone, let me celebrate my granddaughter's graduation. My joy is full this day.”, answered Madam Joyce.
One of Madam Joyce former colleague at the Federal Secretariat, Mr Jones was astounded at the joy and happiness that reflected all over Madam Joyce. He called her aside for enquiry.
“Mma-mma, you seem to be extra happy today! You must have wish your granddaughter success during her schooling.”, remarked Mr Jones.
“You see, I have always wanted my children to finish out of the university. But my only son didn't get to finish from the University. He left the university at the instance of his late father to join his father's business. He is rich and well to do now but he didn't fulfill my joy. Every single day I knew Linda was in school, I was praying that she would finish well and graduate. And today, that my joy is fulfilled.”, answered Madam Joyce with a glittering smile on her face.
