Hola amigos cómo están, por aquí Zuni nuevamente, esperando que se encuentren todos muy bien. Hoy con un storytelling o storytime, de verdad no sé cuál es la diferencia. Pero bueno, vine a echarle el cuento del fin de semana.

En épocas decembrinas estamos más predispuestos a comer rico y con mi hija, que este domingo pasó todo el día con nosotros, comenzamos a media mañana, que por cierto estaba lluvioso, con unos sandwichitos de migas que la niña trajo a casa. Mientras algunos tomaban mates, otros mirábamos nuestro celular, mi hija me dice, mamá, no sabes lo bien que me salen los ñoquis. A lo que inmediatamente respondí, pero sí, a vos no te gustan los ñoquis. Sí, mamá, eso era antes, ahora los preparo yo y verdaderamente me salen muy ricos. Sorprendida por su seguridad, le dije, y qué te parece si los preparamos. De una mamá, yo te hago los ñoquis y vos haces la salsa. Trato hecho hija ✨

[English] During the holiday season, we're more inclined to eat well, and my daughter, who spent the whole day with us this Sunday, and I started mid-morning—it was raining, by the way—with some little sandwiches she'd brought home. While some of us drank mate and others looked at our phones, my daughter said to me, "Mom, you wouldn't believe how good my gnocchi are!" To which I immediately replied, "But you don't like gnocchi." "Yes, Mom, that was before. Now I make them myself, and they really do turn out delicious." Surprised by her confidence, I said, "What do you think about making them?" Bastante puré de papa, con un porcentaje de harina común, adicionalmente un huevo, para que la masa de los ñoquis tengan mayor consistencia y no se desarmen. La cuestión es que ella siempre comió, las que me gustan a mí. Tiene que ver con los de calabaza, o realizarlas sin harinas, que muchas veces son más difíciles de preparar y no son tan duritas o consistentes como lo llama ella. Ahora ella lo hace de esta manera y según su parecer son exquisitas. Realicé una salsa o un tuco, como quieras llamarlo, de pollo y pareciera que salió muy rico, porque nada quedo.
! [English] Plenty of mashed potatoes, with a percentage of all-purpose flour, plus an egg, to give the gnocchi dough more consistency and prevent it from falling apart. The thing is, she's always eaten the ones I like. It has to do with pumpkin gnocchi, or making them without flour, which are often more difficult to prepare and aren't as firm or consistent as she calls them. Now she makes them this way, and according to her, they're delicious. I made a chicken sauce, or a sauce, whatever you want to call it, and it seemed to turn out very well because there wasn't a single crumb left.
Quedamos sorprendidos y para bien. De ahora en adelante, ella será la encargada de realizar este exquisito plato. Que en la Argentina normalmente se hacen todos los 29 de cada mes. Pero como nosotros siempre hacemos las cosas, cuando las sentimos, lo realizamos a mitad de mes. Nos olvidamos de ponerle la propina debajo del plato como se acostumbra, pues será en otra ocasión 😃. Marcelo me dice, que fui una buena entrenadora de todos los hijos, porque todos saben cocinar y eso nos encanta. Ahora le toca el turno a Don Juan y ya estamos con sus primeros pasos. Lo primero que hay que hacer, es lavar los platos. Luego vendrán las clases de cocina 😂.
! [English] We were pleasantly surprised. From now on, she'll be in charge of making this delicious dish. In Argentina, it's usually made on the 29th of every month. But since we always do things when we feel like it, we make it in the middle of the month. We forgot to put the tip under the plate as is customary, because we'll do that another time 😃. Me gusta cuando los niños aprenden a cocinar y le imprimen su propia impronta. Eso me encanta y a veces no coincido, pero disfruto que tomen la decisión de hacerlo a su manera. Mi hija se recibió de maestra pastelera, chisme que lo contaré en otra ocasión, pero es evidente que le encanta incursionar en la cocina. Ojalá prontamente consiga trabajo de lo que verdaderamente les gusta.

! [English] I love it when children learn to cook and add their own personal touch. I adore that, and even though we sometimes disagree, I enjoy seeing them choose to do things their way. My daughter graduated as a pastry chef—a bit of gossip I'll share another time—but it's clear she loves exploring the kitchen. I hope she soon finds a job doing what she truly loves.
