Of the Uninspired
Beyond the light you stayed,
and in the shadows strayed.
Always a whisker from reach,
Over worn and loosely frayed.
Sheen on skin would glow,
and life would ebb and flow.
Your fire would start hearts,
But little did they know.
For on the breeze you flew,
and over mountains blew.
Along the streams unknown,
To all excepting you.
Through the streets the chase,
and across the skies a race.
The sparks followed the flame,
Burned dark across their face.
Will you ever grow too tired,
and let them have life unfired.
Will you stop the games you play,
That leave them all inspired.
Why end when I am so near,
and take what they want to hear.
When I can instead provide,
Giving them all they fear.
