This is my first time to Ayutthaya after several times to Thailand and I was only interested because I had a lot of time to go out of town other than Bangkok of course. In my opinion, the easiest city to access is Ayutthaya. Taking the train from Krung Thep Aphiwat Station to Ayutthaya at 6 am, we were forced to wake up earlier than usual.
It turns out that besides being easy, taking the train to Ayutthaya is also the cheapest. For one economy class seat without air conditioning, you only pay 20 baht (current rate: 7 cents). Once you have your ticket, you head to the gate and look for food to eat. The trip to Ayutthaya takes less than 2 hours, so rather than being hungry, I decided to buy food.
At this station there are also merchants selling food that is ready to take away, so easy and cheap. I decided to eat at the station so that I wouldn't disturb other people in the carriage. It turned out to be very tasty, there was rice, chicken and also warm soup.
Exactly 10 minutes after finishing eating, we were told to get ready to enter the carriage and get seats according to the number on the ticket. Getting a comfortable place and also the wind from the window which was so cold because it was still morning and the air was also very good. It didn't feel like we were almost in Ayutthaya by traveling by train for the first time in Thailand.
This is the real life at Ayutthaya station. As soon as we arrived, we were immediately rushed to get off because the train would go to the next station, only dropping off and picking up passengers, not to linger. The atmosphere was not as busy as at Bangkok City station. It seemed very orderly but looked slow.
I had time to enter the toilet at this station because we were planning to go home in the afternoon. Getting ready a little and adjusting our clothes, because we didn't book a hotel room or anything so our place to rest for a while was only at the train station.
Next, we walked to the other side of the station, that's where we found a place that must be visited to rent a motorbike that will be used all day to go around Ayutthaya. Not too far, a strategic place and also suitable for backpackers to save time.
We rented a motorbike for only 300 baht for one day. Of course that's not including the petrol you have to buy as accommodation. There are not many requirements and they don't even ask for a passport, just pay the full amount up front, they didn't even ask for my driving license.
They gave us a map that will be our guide today in Ayutthaya. They even gave us tips for our one-day trip, so that we can visit all the tourist attractions on that day. The thing I like most in Thailand, all the people are very friendly and smile easily.
See you the next time hive friends!
