Welcome to another Travel Journal on this blog! This time, I want to tell you about my trip to Grömitz at the German Baltic Sea. I was booked as a DJ for a wedding, however, me and my girlfriend stayed for a long weekend.
On our way to Grömitz, we stopped at Celle first. It is a town in Lower Saxony situated on the banks of the river Aller. We ate lunch at a restaurant called Schweine Schulze and Schweine translates to the English word pigs. It is a restaurant with a long history and classic German kitchen. I recommend eating there!!
After arriving at Grömitz, I had to build up my equipment for the party on Saturday:
We stayed at a hotel called aja Grömitz and it was not good. The room was missing essential features and it was not that clean. The only good thing was the breakfast and the terrasse overlooking the Baltic Sea.
(The amazing view out of our room… lol)
(Not our hair...)
I cannot recommend this hotel. It was way too expensive for what it had to offer. I will not post the link due to this fact.
For dinner, we had a big problem. Everything basically was closed at 9pm already. We found one Spanish restaurant that was open until 10pm so that we had to eat there. It was not that good either.
After dinner, we went on a little walk and drank a beer:
Besides this terrible start to the trip, we had a great Saturday before I went to the party as the DJ. The sun was shining, we had a great breakfast with a view and Grömitz was beautiful that day!
The wedding was great as well! They had a food truck with burgers for dinner and the bride & groom arrived in amazing Ford Mustangs.
The next day was not as sunny as Saturday. We ate breakfast and decided to drive home, even though we had the hotel booked for another night. It was a trip with ups and downs and we decided that we would not travel there again. Maybe it is nicer to travel to the German Baltic Sea during offseason. Everything was really crowded during our stay.
I will be posting soon about our trip to Leipzig, where we went to a music festival.
Best wishes
Nils
