Motherhood: HOW DO YOU COPE WITH A PICKY EATER?

in Motherhood3 days ago

I saw a video where a mother prepped a fruit salad for her children and they enjoyed eating it, I was inspired.

Watermelon, pineapple, cucumber and banners smoothie

So the next day I got different kinds of fruits with that excitement I rushed into the kitchen wash them and used my cutter to dice them into different shapes. Just so he can have fun while eating them.

But guess what? My son proudly rejected the fruit salad, I was so angry. My son is so selective that he doesn't eat things like other kids. He doesn't eat some kinds of biscuits ( only crackers) there are some kind of soup I will prepare he wouldn't eat.

On days when the spirit is eager he only takes few spoons and leave the rest.
So today I decided to force him to take some fruit, I got watermelon, pineapple, cucumber and banners and I blend all together.

I held him and he drank some and ran into his room, he forced himself to sleep just to avoid drinking it.

It's so exhausting, because I have new recipes and things I want him to try but he is so selective that I am discouraged to try anything new.
His favourite food is rice, cereals and oat.
He doesn't enjoy eating junks, he likes draw soup.

What other ways can I get him to eat anything?
If your child is so selective like mine how do you cope with him?

Please share with me I am open to learning new things.

Thanks for reading, see you in the comment sections

I understand you perfectly, my son is the same and it is exhausting but I have tried to make him healthy food very similar to what he likes, I'm trying fruit one by one, sometimes they are stages and later he will like those foods, while we must continue to insist.

Really exhausting, I pray just past this sage really soon.
Thanks for stopping by.,🥰🥰

Not all children like chopped fruit and all children are different. I have two and one eats everything and the girl doesn't want anything, she is very picky eater, it doesn't depend on me because I cook for everyone equally. I imagine that as she gets older she will change and like you I also try to force her to eat, before she would eat the junk food (hot dogs) without the salad but now after so much insisting I put salad and she eats it. We have to keep insisting.
