LEO token, InLeo, Leo Project, and its general impact on my happiness

in LeoFinance7 months ago

Day 24 of me trying to be active daily for the #februaryinleo, and today I will write something about my #saturdayinleo post, about me few thoughts about LEO as a token, and the project in general. I may ramble a bit, but this may be also therapeutic for me.

After I started to be active on the Hive blog, as my first point of access, I was attracted to Leo Finance, as personal finance, macro and micro-economics and money stuff, in general, are touching some of my interests and hobbies. LEO token was quite cheap back then, or maybe the crypto, in general, was better valued, and I did manage to achieve a key target of 25K. I was quite happy with that, and while I could have more than 100K LEO right now, a suite of bad decisions made me lose a big profit that I did by sheer luck.

As the story goes, I used a large amount of my CAKE on BSC, to buy CUB, when it launched, and while keeping the CAKE would have made my portfolio gain something akin to $40K, buying CUB instead made me lose 90% of the value, as CUB kept going down and lose value quickly when the bear market started. As I got only a couple thousand dollars, I moved everything on PolyCub, on Polygon, and as for the beginning of this month, what could have been forty thousand dollars is not only worth $54 in xPoli. Yeah, looking back, everyone is so clever, I know, but in the end, I managed to buy all that CAKE with only a few hundred dollars when the price was $0.07, so, this is life, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Counting by the total CAKE value, I lost $40K and counted by the initial cost, I lost $250, so, not a problem, altought the lesson here is to stick with what you know.

LEO token and the new InLeo platform on Hive is what it works, and while I am a bit moderate with my investments, I do stick with LEO on Hive, and never again outside Hive, doesn't matter how attractive it looks. I delegated all my LEO to @meowcurator to get enough of it for the LPUB (150-160 LEO per month), and lately, I did delegate some HIVE to @leo.voter , seeing the 22% APR as a good opportunity. I did like the Dashboard, and the nice numbers I could see on it, but lately it is not working, anyway, I am sure that the team knows and is working on it, as I could see that an error report was sent.

What does this have to do with my happiness in particular? Well, as we know, 50% of the happiness variance results from genetics, and 10% of the circumstances. The rest of 40% depends on our actions. And I am actively working to improve my odds for a happy, meaningful life. It is not easy. But the benefits make it worth the effort, as scientific studies show that happy people are comfortable expressing gratitude, helping others first, being optimistic about their future, savouring pleasures and living in the present, and making physical activity a habit. They are spiritual or religious, and deeply committed to lifelong goals. All traits that I would like to have.

The price to pay for not making this effort is also quite high, and the world that we live in is not making it easier. We have an increase in loneliness, and this is linked to less resilience to stress, lower happiness, lack of sleep, and worse health - higher blood pressure and lower immune system. We have a Rise of narcissism, self-focus and self-centring, the 'I am the centre of the universe' attitude. We see this everywhere around us, and I think the hardest thing to do is to deal with the children's entitlement, not to mention the ones living in an adult body. Another big issue is the frequent promotion of the process of achieving material goods as a path to happiness, which science demonstrated is wrong. Shall I even talk about the rise of inequality - the only incomes rising a lot (278%) are the ones of the top 1%? The rest of them kind of only slightly raised or flatlined. Inequality has to do with happiness, physical health, our children's development, immune system and a lot more. People living in countries with a high rate of inflation can tell the story much better than me.

The conclusion: I still consider LEO as a project worthy of my attention, and I would like to believe that in the future I will be happy to be one of the people supporting it. I did decide to give my Premium feature another go for one month, as I am pleased with the efforts put into providing the extra spice.

All the best,

George

I think everyone has had at least one crypto cockup shall we say.

I know the InLEO team is working on a few updates at the moment hence the bugs.

The tiers for the HP delegation is a great thing.

Well, this is not the worst one. Celsius got me with 34K staked on it. Blockfi with 5K. I missed FTX.
