Hello Hello to all you wonderful Hivians
First things first, Happy New Year!
I wish us all much health and wealth in 2024 and beyond!
Today was a cracker, the sky was blue and the sun was out saying hello. It might have been cold but it was fresh!
Which meant yesterday the 31st of December and today the 1st of January I decided to have a couple of jaunts up to the park armed with my camera and of course some food for the animals!
I told you there was blue skies. So here we are in the height of winter and you would not really think it. Whilst many places have been having snow and floods, we are just bumbling along with some chilly weather but nothing out of the ordinary!
First stop was Stuart, he is a very Scottish squirrel and he loves his nuts.
Do you know here in the UK we used to have gorgeous red squirrels, but then an invasive species appeared (from America I believe!). That species was grey squirrels, well they were bigger than the red squirrels and they were fluffing bullies.
The result is that they wiped out the red squirrels, but here we have some red in these squirrels, see his fluffy tail and the red stripe up his back and head?
Another fun fact is his fluffy tail. In winter with the cold it really fluffs up.
Seagulls they are a fluffing pest. I won't feed them and they are protected believe or not, but living in a seaside town you have no idea how much of a dangerous nuisance they are!
This post is not a walk post so I will save pictures and make a proper post about that probably a Wednesday Walk post one day as I do like that community!
In the meantime, let's see a robin and some fungae.
It is winter after all and I think a robin is an iconic image of winter and especially Christmas.
I remember a few years ago in Belfast seeing a robin in June and thinking yeah it is not as if they go away on vacation for 11 months of the year!
I almost forgot one of the main reasons for making this post!
The second half of 2023 I took my foot off the gas pedal so to speak, but I am back with a bang and determined to power up Hive daily.
Today being the first of the month means that it is Hive Power Up Day or HPUD. To show my bullishness for Hive and our ecosystem I will lock away or stake some Hive.
If you are unfamiliar with the concept of why we do it today, then please take the time to visit this post It's here! Hive Power Up Day for January 1st, 2024 from our very own Hive HPUD Queen @traciyork
I showed this screenshot from the peakd front end because I cannot remember seeing that message before?
There we have it, my HP (Hive Power) is now 7353 Hp, not much and I hope to double it this year!
Happy HPUD...
Being a Rangers fan of course I am a teddy bear so this is appropriate and my way of saying to you ...
Happy New Year and I wish you a prosperous and happy 2024.
I just want to thank you all for posting on Hive, and for engaging!
Reading comments and replying is what makes Hive fun in my mind.
So for all you engagers thank you.
