This year, I decided to celebrate at La Sparrow Beach Resort, because what’s a birthday without some waves crashing, endless seafood on my plate and a touch of family chaos?
The family gathered around, admist all the celebratory off-key singing and love filled giggles, my cousins made sure to capture the moment- especially me attempting to cut the cake and blowing out the candles. You may be wondering what kind of cake I had ordered. It was a Ferrero Rocher cake with hazelnut as a crunchy treat. Topped with chocolate’s from the Ferrero Rocher box.
We had great starters at home before heading to the resort! Stuffed mushrooms, cherry-cheese sticks and chicken tandoori set the perfect tone for an epic celebration. Needless to say, the only videos that came out were of everyone else having a blast.
The resort featured a rooftop balcony adorned with chairs and vibrant neon lights. The central area had comfy sofas that when combined, were just big enough for our family, and there was also an outdoor sitting area that was delightfully windy and moist. So many options to choose from but my grandmas found it hard to come to the outdoor dining experience. Hence the comfy sofas were our choice.
In front of the restaurant, a seafood lover’s paradise awaited us, featuring a dazzling array of options. There were pomfrets glistening in the background, plump looking shrimp and seashells that looked like they came straight from the ocean floor. Let’s not forget the lobsters, their bright red shells enticing us from the ice. It was a seafood feast that had our taste buds dancing in delight and our stomachs rumbling in anticipation!


Although we didn’t capture many photos of the delicious food or the gathered family members, I managed to snag some candid shots of me singing out tunes on the mic. Picture this: me, completely in my element, channeling my inner rock star. Those moments might not have been Instagram-perfect, but they were definitely filled with a good dose of silliness!
