If I could change one thing in my life it would have to be my relationship with food. It seems that for most I my adult life I have been eating mainly based on convenience, the main reason being I could fit more into my day and get more done. Getting lots of stuff done has led to a lot of good out comes and positives but as I have got older relying on a lot of processed foods is properly not optimal. It is hard to pin point exacting there I went wrong as I suppose the food industry was slowly become more and more proceeded over a long period of time.
Changing is never easy, especially when sugar and processed carbs is readily available and tastes so good. I try not to be hard on myself as teams of experts design everything backed with massive advertising campaigns to steer you towards their products.
Slowly with a bit more spare time I have been able to change, one small bad habit at a time. I remember it was not long ago when I would happily seek out the all you can eat buffet and then over indulge thinking I was getting a good deal.
Nowadays instead of going from one processed carb sugar hit to another, I have tried slowing down a bit and trying get get more done on unprocessed quality fats and more vegetables. With all my running and fitness workouts getting the protein intake right has been very important too. At one point I think I dropped too much protein intake that I was getting from processed foods and my workouts and recovery was slower.
It has taken time but I think I have a better understanding now of how to get the best out of food and how my body works, converts it into energy or if unused stores it as fat.
