A good sister

in Weekend Experiences9 days ago
Greetings to everyone at @weekendexperiences, I hope you all had a great weekend, I'm excited because as soon as I saw the Engagement topics for this week, I had no hesitation in selecting the topic to be discussed.

.

..Do you consider yourself a good sister?

Being a good sister is an honor that I carry with pride in my heart. The special connection I share with my sister is a priceless treasure that has been cultivated over the years.

From an early age, my parents planted in us the seed of companionship and solidarity. I remember clearly the day my sister came into our lives; she was a fragile and delicate little girl. Although age differences could have created barriers, from the very first moment I knew that it would be my duty to protect her, guide her and love her unconditionally.

I fondly remember the days when, as an older sister, I accompanied her in her learning and growing process. From teaching her her first letters to giving her advice in her moments of doubt and confusion, I have always been there for her, offering her my helping hand and my shoulder to cry on in difficult times.

Over the years, we have faced challenges together, overcoming obstacles and celebrating achievements together. Our bond has weathered the storms of life, growing stronger with each shared experience.

For her, my support was very important when she was studying at the University, when she started she had a little insecurity and I was a university professor at that time and I quickly realized that, guiding her a little, she was able to enjoy her stay at the university intensely, because she participated in the sports and cultural festivals in addition to obtaining very good grades.

As adults we have gone through difficult and happy times together, consolidating an indestructible bond based on mutual respect and understanding.

In some years we lived in Canada, but we maintained a very close family and work connection, so that sometimes the children were with me in Cuba, or I was in Canada and she was with the children here, both of us always tried to work together for the welfare of the family.

One of the greatest joys we have experienced together has been raising our children. We have instilled in them the same values of love, respect and solidarity that have characterized us throughout the years. Seeing our children grow up together, sharing laughter, tears and dreams, is a reflection of the deep connection that unites us as sisters and that our parents were able to enjoy and be proud of.

I must be honest and tell you that sister and I do not share the same perspective in many situations, which has brought us some difficult situations, little by little and over time we have learned to accept our differences, respect them and always be present to support without questioning, with the experience that the years give us and we find it easy to find common ground where harmony and affection flourish.
