A few hours ago I stumbled on this post https://ecency.com//@nectarbytes/august-contest-for-the-mildly-infuriating-community so I think I will lend some help to hel this community a bit lively... although it sounds weird that we want something infuriates us in order to get some idea or material for our blog lol.
Recently I traveled a lot to meet some people and most of those meet ups were about some businesses, or running or settling some errands. Well It meant that I have been visiting many coffee shops recently.
One of them was this place. it was a nice and cozy, there were a few customers there, but the place was not packed. A good place to meet up to have some meetings there. The place was not perfect, but they provided everything, from proper tables, many electric sockets, free wifi, clean toilets and even a praying room for Moeslims.
Those were not perfect, but it was more than what we could ask from a small coffee shop... except for one thing...
My order... It was not a take away order... But they gave me a coffee in a plastic cup. My complain was not about the coffee, it tasted great anyway, above my expectation. However I did not understand why they served it in plastic cup.
People can use whatever reasons they want, Starbucks even does the same. It is cost effective, and they have no risk of breaking something that loses what they initially have invested before. No need for extra staff to do the washing. But it is not about that...
I think it is not a proper way to serve people with plastic. They should serve the drinks or coffee in a mug, a cup or a glass. It is not a necessity but it is one of the main reason why I avoid coming to Starbucks and other coffee shops which serve people using plastic cups or some paper cups.
Anyway my coffee was 25000 Rupiah or around 1.45 USD. In outskirts of Jakarta city, that's not a cheap one and this should not be used as an excuse for serving coffee in plastic cup... nor reasoning with the fact Starbuck is doing the same.
Compared to other place, let me show you the proper one. I ordered the same, it was an Ice Cafe Latte too, and they served it on a glass. This place showed exactly what we expected for our drinks to be served. It did not have to be fancy, but at least it must be a proper one.
Anyway I drank a double shots espresso before I ordered that cafe latte. You can say I am a heavy coffee drinker lol. I often order many latte not because I am a fan of it, but it helps me get away from double shots or triple shots which could harm my digestion in a longer period.
Ok back to the topic and what infuriate me... Please do not justify yourself to serve coffee with some plastic cups. It's ok if those are take outs, but hardly accepted for sit down customers. Don't use excuse such as "Oh STARBUCKS does it so it's ok"
just be a proper one lah...
