I'd say it makes my day when I am productive in the morning. I've noticed I am most productive when I first get up, so if I am able to get going and get a lot done, that feels good because I know it's 10x more difficult for me to start later in the day.
It also makes my day when I know I have enough supplies to take care of my pets. If I have to skip a meal I know why, but I can't explain that to my cat and I don't want him to suffer because I am poor, so I would much rather he be fed than me. A cupboard full of cat food makes me happy. :)
