A few day's ago I shared an update about my 3d printing adventures link here
Right above is a picture of what my good prusa pritner looked like, I had many issues with it for a while and the heat cartriges kept burning out, I mentioned in my Saturday post that now I had to wait for a new part to arrive.
Well what do you know it came in I pop it in and the same issue, I realized I may have been missing a crusial step called PID tune this tuning calibarates the heat cartrige, a step I missed that may have been resposible well no luck with that even with the new parts, I was slummped for a while but then I figured let me try one of my other parts I have in stock.
And problem solved! I realized I was using the wrong part! For some reason I thought the heat cartirge had to have a 12 volt/40 watts rating, it actually had to be a 24 volt/40 watts woops, the worst part about the whole situation is that not only did I waste time and bought incompatible parts, I had the right 24 volt parts all along!
The 12 volt parts some what worked but not very well and not for long the temprature would flucuate during printing with a +/-5 celcius range and this would greatly impact my print quality and reduce the service life of the heat cartriges.
I feel pretty silly but I am glad I was able to sort it out and now my printers are working very nice, I have been 3d pritning for awhile and have gotten way better at fixing them up and also the pritner sofware and harware has gotten better over the time.
Part of the issue was that I bought this prusa pritner used and was not quite sure about the model, a bit tricky with this printer becouse the company releases upgrage kits so the pritners can all look very similar.
