Guys, I had heard of the gastronomique delights of Paris many times. In fact, throughout my whole life I have been taunted with the culinary greatness that is Paris. The taunts were not wrong. The food there, it was just beyond divine!
And it was EVERYWHERE! I truly had never seen so many restaurants, markets, carts. You name it, if it had to do with food, it was present in the City of Light.
I was in elated awe.
And let me tell you, I tried as much as possible. Since we were walking miles and miles daily, I didn't even think about how much I was eating and drinking. I just indulged.

I mean, the smoked meat, caramelized onions, and cheese galette, topped with a fried egg was just out of this world flavor-wise. I think the owner of the crepery knew how enthralled I was with the dish, as he chased my waitress away and spent the rest of my time there checking on me. How could I not be happy, I had a salad with dijon vinegarette and a cafe Viennois.

I must say here, the French commitment to hectares of whipped not overly sweet cream on their drinks and desserts made my entire visit sublime. So, so YUM
In one bistro, I ordered three things that I knew I had to have from my many years in high school French class: chocolat chaud, black truffle mayo deviled oeufs, and croque monsieur.

Talk about maybe over extending myself, that was a rich meal on steroids. But holy tasty, rich food, divine happening. I cannot even describe how glorious it all was.
The hot chocolate was so thick that I could almost stand my spoon up in it, and so perfectly sweetened. I don't like overly sweet things, turns out I just have a very European palate when it comes to desserts and drinks. How it comes out of the kitchen is always perfect, at least it was when I was there. I never added any more of the offerred sugar and was completely and utterly delighted every time.

The black truffle mayo deviled eggs were on a different level. I had never tasted anything so rich and succulent, and the Croque Monsieur sent me into rich food overload. It was a good thing we walked about five miles after I ate all that gloriousness.

Can you tell I had a magnificent and delightful comestible trying time in Paris?
And that was just two meals worth of what I indulged in, there is so, so much more. Along with the sights, sounds, and adventures I had, because yes, it wouldn't be a Kat blog without some sort of random adventure thing happening. Of course things occurred.

But for now I will leave it here, I am still forty-two books deep in school for another couple weeks, then, hopefully, I will regale you all with some of the European adventure happenings!
