On the second day of Chinese New Year, we were also quite in a full-day packed mode. My second brother invited us all to go to his house for Chinese New Year visitation, also a time for my parents to meet the in-laws. So we woke up early that day to get ready. My husband did not join us because he had a day out with all the boys, for the boys' cousins to hang out together. Therefore, I was the main driver that day.
We reached youngest brother's house and spent one hour plus there eating the CNY snacks plus chit chatting. I love his wife's side of family, super hilarious, so it was really full of fun. The children also enjoyed themselves playing with the pets at my brother's house. He and his wife are both animal lovers, they have a cat, a gecko and a guinea pig. They want to take care of more cats but the size of the house is not conducive.
It was time for lunch!
Youngest brother and his wife's family already had plan for movie and karaoke, therefore my family and I would go on our own. We went to nearby mall called MyTown for lunch. Wow, everywhere was so packed and crowded, we did not get to choose what we wanted to eat. We ended up at a restaurant called "Ipoh Ais Kopi" simply because there were available seats for us.
We took a group photo before we forgot.
Ipoh Ais Kopi
This is a non-halal restaurant, this explained why it was not as pack as other restaurants because mainly only Chinese and Indian dined here.
The food we ordered
I ordered the recommended curry noodle and it was glad to know that it was delicious. Lots of bean curd puff and shredded chicken. The curry soup was very flavourful too.
My sister ordered roasted pork with dry Hakka noodle, and it was so so delicious too. She and her daughter really enjoyed it.
My father ordered their signature 'wantan' noodle with charsiu aka BBQ pork. It was overly sweet until we needed to dilute the sauce with the soup given..perhaps we had been avoiding sugar for very long time and this was extraordinary sweet for a noodle dish.
My mother ordered Ipoh Chee Cheung Fan which came with red sauce, also surprisingly overly sweet and we also needed to dilute the sweetness with some soup.
I ordered an extra prawn dumplings soup for everyone to share and this one was very highly recommended. Very delicious.
We especially love the tea and coffee drinks at this shop. Five stars!!!
After that, it was free and easy time. Brother's daughter wanted to go to a shop where they could create their own plushies. My parents, my sister and I walked around to shop the my sister's daughter. We also stopped at the centre court to watch some Chinese New Year performance as well as buying some 'muachi' and my parents were being influenced by another kiosk selling bird nest and they ended bought the super expensive bird nest drink.
