Family Time🩷: Home and heart are fuller when parents are around

in Daily Blog5 days ago

It has been two weeks my parents are here and they will be here with us until end of February.🎉 Definitely a great time together for many days and I am going to savour all moments. They are also having fun time with their grandchildren. I'm here to share some snippets of our time together.

A lot of good times together

Basically, my youngest son and I will go out with my parents everyday for early lunch (11am onwards) while my eldest son will be at school. And then we will go for a walk at nearby supermarkets or malls, depending on what items we need to buy.

For one particular day, we went out to nearby coffee shop for our doses of coffee, here sold nice noodles especially the wonton noodles. Parents also love to eat the 'siu mai' here. I took a photo of them to show my sister who missed them immensely.

Most of the nights in the first week, we ate out because I wanted my Mum to rest and to just relaxed, did not need to cook. Once, we went to a Chinese restaurant because I was craving the clay pot curry fish head. Since only the four of us eating, I ordered a claypot curry fish head and a plate of signature tofu with minced pork. We had such a great dinner time, good food and good company.

However, this week, she says she wants to cook some meals for dinner because we had been eating super tasty and salty food outside. Thank you, Mum.

She cooked for us two dishes — curry fish fillet with bean curd skin and ladies finger (we all love curry very much) & fish with sweet fermented beans with tofu blocks. There were so delicious. Yums!!!

Almost everyday, parents will visit this vendor on the street to buy fruits. Eating fruits is important for them to promote healthy bowel movements. I also brought them to the morning market to get some breakfast snacks, however I didn't take any photos at the market, only the food we bought to eat at home.

Occasionally, we did go for early teatime. For once, I brought them to a restaurant which I had never been to before as well. We had coffee and toast, and I also bought for us the delicious charcoal egg tarts.

To the mall

We frequented this mall the most because it is nearby. Today, we visited the centre isle for Chinese New Year decorations. A photo is a must.

There is a section called the Blessing Wall where we can write down words of blessings on the card provided. Markers are being provided too. My youngest son wrote one.

After walking around the mall and got a long pants for the young boy, we had dessert time at Penang Chendol. Always, never fail, this place serves super mouth-watering Penang Chendol and their Penang Loh Bak is delicious too.

I have many more days to spend time with my parents and I am going to enjoy all the precious time. Most of the time, we just leisure relax at home, each has their own gadget time too. Dad loves to listen to news on his iPad while eating his favourite food. While Mum loves to sit with me and chit chat and to know more about our lives and her grandchildren. Love it!!!

Featuring my Dad, haha! Sshhhh....🤭
