The Creativity Of Nigerian Youths. #Shadow Hunters SMASh Contest Round 346

in Shadow Hunters18 days ago

We are hard working and creative people in Nigeria. For once let me showcase the good side of my country 😂. Our young boys and girls are actively engaged in good creative works like crafting of mortar and pestle.

This is my entry for #shadowhunters Contest Round 346. This contest has been good and encouraging one on the blockchain here. I have always enjoyed it (though many times I missed out of it)

I passed by the site where some Hausa boys carve mortar and pestle from wood. That is their profession and they do it very well. These crafts are lovely. I took some pictures of their exhibition on the shelves to use for this entry.

Mortar and pestle are very useful to us for our domestic activities (especially in preparing most of our local delicacies. We use the mortar and pestle to prepare pounded yam. Pounded yam is our favorite delicacy.

Traditions control virtually many things in the African setting. Though there is technological advancement, our people seem to believe more in their traditional ways of doing things. There are several devices which could help us do some of our domestic activities easily. But traditional beliefs and sentiments have made our people believe that using what we grew up with will make our food taste well. Such a funny superstition!
