Als ich vor drei Jahren mit Hive angefangen habe wusste ich noch nicht wirklich, wie das alles funktioniert. Daher war ich natürlich um so vorsichtiger, was mein Privatleben angeht. Ausserdem habe ich viele Ínteressen. Irgendwie ein Fluch. Also habe ich im Laufe der Zeit einiges ausprobiert. Diverse Communities besucht, dort gepostet und interagiert und geschaut, wo ich mich irgendwie "zu Hause" fühle.
Was ich auf alle Fälle schnell gelernt habe (zum Glück, bevor ich einen solchen Fehler gemacht habe): Entweder eigene Bilder verwenden oder Quelle nachweisen. Und auch da gibt es natürlich Unterschiede. Klar kann man mal ein fremdes Bild zur Illustration einbinden (Quellenangabe nicht vergessen) aber für einen Avatar oder ständig sich wiederholende Dinge wie Divider sollte man schon was eigenes haben.
Nach einigem Kramen bin ich damals bei einem Foto einer Badeente gelandet.
Hatte irgendwie gepasst. Erstmal schön nichtssagend, aber auch anders, als man sich eine Badeente vorstellt. Ich bin halt auch ein bisschen anders, als man sich erst denkt, wenn man mich trifft. Davon ab hat das für mich als ACDC Fan natürlich super gepasst.
Dazu hatte ich dann auch ein schönes Header Bild für die Profilseite. Schön mit ein bisschen Unschärfe, damit es auch als Hintergrund passt.
Darauf basierend hatte ich dann irgendwann ein paar Divider gebastelt. Relativ simpel. Für meine Splinterlands postings habe ich auch manchmal auf die von @freeztag zur Verfügung gestellten zurückgegriffen. Natürlich wieder mit Quellenangabe im Footer. Für meine eigenen habe ich dann auf das Hive Logo und mein Profilbild zurückgegriffen. Da die Ente rot war ergab sich daraus auch die Grundfarbe für die Divider.
Inzwischen hatte ich in der sloth.buzz Community sowas wie ein zu Hause gefunden. Vor allem @slothlydoesit war und ist ein vertrauter Gesprächspartner geworden.
Nach einigem hoch und runter sowohl auf Hive als auch im Privatleben habe ich dann für mich entschlossen, dass ich mich anders ausrichten möchte. Inzwischen hatte ich mit Python angefangen und habe da richtig Spaß dran. Da @slothlydoesit jemanden suchte, der ihm einen Botcode schreiben kann, fand ich so ein Ziel für meine Bemühungen. Mittlerweile eine richtig tolle Zusammenarbeit. Im Grunde bin ich halt doch ein coder, auch wenn ich diesen Skill die letzten fünfzehn Jahre habe brach liegen lassen.
Mit dieser Erkenntnis kam dann auch die Entscheidung zur Neuausrichtung. Ich bin halt ein geek, ich war mal coder, ich will es wieder sein. Klar hab ich noch meinen dayjob, in dem ich vor langer Zeit mal zufällig hängen geblieben bin. Den brauch ich auch zum Leben, während ich aufarbeite, was ich in all der Zeit verpasst habe. Aber genau da wird mein Fokus ab jetzt liegen. Also warum nicht auch ein neues Profil, inklusive neuem Bild, in dem das widergespiegelt wird?
Das ist halt das, was ich nicht kann. Grafiken. Aber es gibt ja inzwischen AI. Und so kam ich auf die Idee mich der AI zu beschreiben, auch mit meiner typischen Schiebermütze und nach einigen Anpassungen des Prompts kam dann das hier bei raus.
Auch die Beschreibung im Profil habe ich inzwischen angepasst und heute in den Footer übernommen. Schlussendlich habe ich heute dann auch noch am Divider gebastelt. Das alte rot hat mir auch nicht mehr gefallen. Am liebsten habe ich ja ein kräftiges, dunkles Türkis, bin aber in den mehr schattigen Bereich mit der Farbe gegangen, da ich das für die Augen zur Textunterbrechung angenehmer finde. Natürlich das Profilbild eingebunden. Fürs erste finde ich den ok.
Ich möchte noch ein oder zwei für andere Gelegenheiten basteln. Wenn ich zum Beispiel übers Proggen poste, dann kann das vielleicht auch im Divider irgendwie abgebildet werden. Aber die richtige Eingebung ist mir da noch nicht gekommen.
Nichtsdestotrotz, hier bin ich nun, neu ausgerichtet und bereit für ein nächstes Kapitel.

When I started with Hive three years ago, I didn't really know how it all worked. So naturally I was all the more cautious when it came to my private life. I also have a lot of interests. Kind of a curse. So I tried out a few things over time. I visited various communities, posted and interacted there and looked to see where I somehow felt ‘at home’.
What I quickly learnt in any case (fortunately, before I made such a mistake): Either use your own images or credit the source. And of course there are differences here too. Of course you can use a picture from someone else to illustrate something (don't forget to cite the source), but for an avatar or repetitive things like dividers, you should have something of your own.
After some rummaging, I ended up with a photo of a rubber duck.
It somehow fitted. Nice and meaningless at first, but also different from what you would imagine a rubber duck to be. I'm also a bit different than you might think when you meet me. That said, as an ACDC fan, it was a great fit for me.
I also had a nice header image for the profile page. Nice with a bit of blurring so that it also fits as a background.
Based on this, I then made a few dividers at some point. Relatively simple. For my Splinterlands postings I sometimes used the dividers provided by @freeztag (https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@freeztag/splinterlands-or-art-contest-173-or-a-free-to-use-splinterlands-divider). Again, of course, with the source cited in the footer. I then used the Hive logo and my profile picture for my own. As the duck was red, this resulted in the basic colour for the dividers.
In the meantime, I had found something of a home in the sloth.buzz community. Especially @slothlydoesit was and is a trusted dialogue partner.
After a few ups and downs, both on Hive and in my private life, I decided that I wanted to change direction. In the meantime, I started with Python and really enjoy it. Since @slothlydoesit was looking for someone who could write him a botcode, I found a target for my endeavours. It's now a really great collaboration. Basically, I'm a coder after all, even if I've let this skill lie fallow for the last fifteen years.
With this realisation came the decision to reorient myself. I'm just a geek, I used to be a coder, I want to be one again. Of course I still have my day job, which I got stuck in by chance a long time ago. I also need it to live while I catch up on what I've missed in all this time. But that's exactly where my focus will be from now on. So why not create a new profile, including a new picture that reflects that?
That's just what I can't do. Graphics. But there is now AI. And so I came up with the idea of describing myself to the AI, even with my typical flathat, and after a few adjustments to the prompt, this is what it came up with.
I have also adjusted the description in the profile and added it to the footer today. Finally, I also tinkered with the divider today. I didn't like the old red colour any more. I prefer a strong, dark turquoise, but I went to the more shady area with the colour, as I find it more pleasant for the eyes to interrupt the text. Of course, the profile picture is included. I think it's ok for now.
I would like to make one or two more for other occasions. For example, if I post about progging, then maybe that can also be shown in the divider somehow. But I haven't got the right idea yet.
Nevertheless, here I am, reorganised and ready for the next chapter.
