Never tried this, seems worth trying. But cooking time for Chana dal and rice is different, how to manage it?

Sort:  

Soak the chana dal separately for about 30 minutes. Soak the rice for just 5 minutes. Then mix both together. The chana dal will swell up nicely and both will cook together perfectly.
