Yummy White yam with oil bean and fresh tomatoes sauce

Hello friends, Hope you are enjoying the start of the new month? Hope we all participated in HPUD, which took place yesterday? I love yams, but theirs a particular species's i dont joke with. It always comes from the Northern part of my country. So, yesterday, i went to pick one for myself in our local market since i don't have any at home. But before going to the market, i was questioning myself, how would i prepare this yam because i dont enjoy eating porridge yam regularly only when am hungry for it. While i was contemplating on the best way to enjoy my yam, i remembered how I used to enjoy white yam with oil bean and fresh tomatoes sauce. So, i decided to go for it here is my ingredients.

  • A tuber of yam

  • Palm oil

  • Onions 3 ball's

  • Fresh tomatoes 4 ball's

  • 2 fres pepper

  • Oil bean (ugba)

  • Salt

  • Water

Step 1- i proceeded with the pealing of the yam. After pealing, i washed it twice which is the best way to wash out dirts from yam.

After washing, i already have my pot ready, so i rinsed it before putting the sliced yams inside it. Water was added to it. On the gas cylinder and put the pot on top of it. Immediately the yam was about to boil, salt was added to the yam for good taste. Once it boiled for 2 minutes, I taste the water to confirm if the salt was enough. I added additional salt when i didn't get the ideal thirst.

While the yam was boiling, i moved to step 2 which is, washing of the fresh tomatoes, pepper and onions.

After washing them, i sliced them to my desired taste. I cut them into smaller particles.

Even the fresh pepper, i didn't pand it. Instead, i sliced it with knife because that's exactly how i wanted it. I want to feel the taste an aroma while 😋 enjoying my meal because, this species of pepper is special. We call it in my local dilet ose anu which means meat pepper because of it's ideal taste and nice natural aroma.

Step 3- at this juncture, the yam is done. So , sieved out the water and get my plate ready

First was to add all the sliced vegetables inside the plate, add palm oil to it including salt. Then use the other side of the plate for the yam.


Food is ready

I mixed the oil with the oil bean and sliced vegetables together. As you can see, the food is ready to serve. I really enjoyed the meal.

As you can see, it's a balance diet. The yam supplies the body carbohydrates, oil bean is enriched with protein, fresh tomatoes, and pepper together with the onions is a good source of vitamins and minerals. It was such a delicious meal that one needs to try out. I intended adding utazi leaf's to it but i couldn't find it in the market, it was actually scares here. Without the utazi, i steal enjoyed my meals. It really tastes great and i will like to go for it again and again it my best way of eating yam's.
