Hello friends, how are you all? I hope you are all doing well. Once again, I am going to share a tasty and delicious recipe with you that is very light and can be made quickly.

I learned this recipe from my grandmother, though I still can't make it as perfectly as she does. It's very easy to make, so let's learn how to make khichdi.

Khichdi is a healthy food that you can make very easily. It takes about 20 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients✅

☘️- Urad dal: 1/2 cup (approximately 50 grams)
☘️- Arhar (Toor) dal: 1/2 cup (approximately 50 grams)
☘️- Rice: 1 cup (approximately 100 grams)
☘️- Salt: To taste
☘️- Turmeric: 1 teaspoon
☘️- Water: 4 cups

Instructions for Making Khichdi✅

Preparation

  1. Wash the rice and both types of dal thoroughly. Soak them for 10 minutes.

Cooking

  1. Take a pressure cooker and add the soaked rice and dal.

  1. Add turmeric and salt.

  1. Pour in approximately 4 cups of water. For khichdi, you need to add a bit more water to ensure it cooks well.

  1. Close the pressure cooker and cook on medium heat for 2 whistles.

  2. After 2 whistles, turn off the heat and let the pressure cooker cool down a bit.

  1. Open the cooker and mix the khichdi well.

  1. Serve the hot khichdi. You can enjoy it with ghee, pickle, or papad.

  1. If you prefer your khichdi to be more liquid, you can add extra water.

This is my grandmother's khichdi recipe, which is both delicious and healthy. Try it out and let me know how you liked it.

Thank you all for your love and support.🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳

I think you used split moong not urad dal, correct if I am wrong.

Yes, you are wrong. This is green urad dal.

It is 1st time heard about green Urad daal, it is always black as far as I know. And in khichdi never used urad dal, always moong daal is used. In this way your recipe is new.
