Good day fellow vegans.
Am here to talk about a special dish that I cherish so much and it is a seasonal grain which even if I should miss other seasonal fruits or grains, I can't miss this one. Hope you're desperate to know the grain am talking about? It is corn.
Corn is among the varieties of grains in our part of the world and it is seasonal. Today, I bought corn or maize from seller because mine haven't matured. Now, let me showcase the steps I took in preparing the corn.
First I removed the outer layers

Then I washed them to remove any trace of sand that may be present at the corn the time I was removing the outer layers.
Next, I put them inside pot and then added enough water as desired base on the quantity of the corn. You can add water to cover the corn. But you need to know that corn do sail above the water. So while adding water, Good day fellow vegans.
The next thing is to place it on fire. I used gas cooking method. You can cook with charcoal, stove or electricity.
I cooked it for good 20 minutes counting from the time it started boiling because the corn is strong. But if the corn is tender, just 10 minutes, the corn is done. Also, if you wish, you can add little salt to taste. But myself, i didn't add because I love it natural.
After 30 minutes, I brought it down and here comes my corn popularly known as Ukoru or Oka in our local dialect.
