Chard, potatoes and tumeric soup/ Sopa de acelgas, patatas y cúrcuma.

Good afternoon and happy Saturday, blog friends! I still have a toothache, so today I decided to cook a soft and comforting dish with a seasonal vegetable that I love very much: chard! I found some inexpensive bunches of chard and decided to make a warm and comforting winter soup.

For this recipe, you'll need:

  • 100 grams of chard
  • 8 medium potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons of turmeric
  • 3 tablespoons of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of pepper

First, let's prepare the chard. If it's fresh, rinse it well with cold water. Then, take the required amount and cut it into medium-sized strips. Then, peel the potatoes and cut them into medium-sized pieces.

Then we prepare a pot filled with water (about 500 ml) with salt. When the water boils, we add the potatoes to the pot first and cook them over low heat for about twenty minutes.

Then we add the chard, mix well with the potatoes and cook for another fifteen minutes. During this time, we also add the turmeric to the pot so that the soup has a strong turmeric aftertaste. Stir well. When it is ready, sprinkle the soup with pepper and serve hot. If you like, you can eat it with bread. It is an excellent, comforting soup, warm and delicious.

I am not familiar with chard, seemed not available in my country.

But the food looks delicious! I also love eating vegetables

Thanks this kind of chard have a taste quite similar to spinachs it's really yummy 😋

I also cook similar to yours, just without turmeric and I used different kinds of vegetables.😁

I love tumeric and spices in the soup but this time with toothache I can't add man spices.
