Hello, vegan lovers! Simple yet delicious dishes are always an inspiration for anyone looking to start cooking at home. A simple dish with a super authentic flavor offers a taste and aroma that’s quite delightful.
Today, I’ll guide you through preparing a special dish by combining a flour batter with tofu skin balls. It’s simple, but trust me—this will let you create a vegan meal that feels just like enjoying a non-vegan dish. The tofu skin, which delivers an authentic fish-like flavor, adds something truly extraordinary.

The preparation process is quite simple, and you’ll definitely enjoy it with palm sugar sauce. With its sweet, spicy, and savory flavors, I think all three tastes are undeniably special.
Ingredients

150 grams all-purpose flour
Tofu skin, as needed
3 cloves garlic
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon mushroom broth powder
2 tablespoons cooking oil

7 cloves garlic
15 bird’s eye chilies
1 tablespoon tamarind paste
200 grams palm sugar
Preparation Procedure
First, I start by preparing the tofu skin balls, then heat some water and add all-purpose flour to a bowl.

Mince the garlic with salt and chicken bouillon, then add it to the flour mixture, followed by cooking oil.

Now, after making the tofu skin balls, they wouldn’t be complete without the special sweet and savory sauce—simple yet delicious. The process is very easy and takes only a short time. Let’s take a look at the preparation.
First, I grind the garlic and chili peppers into a paste. Then, in a pot, I add palm sugar and water and cook them together.

Stir and cook until thickened. Don’t forget to add salt to taste—just ¼ teaspoon is plenty.

Results and Serving Suggestions

Serve the fried balls with the cuko sauce. Look at the beautiful result—a perfect blend of sour, savory, and sweet flavors all in one. I’m so happy with the final result; the color is absolutely stunning, and the combination of the tofu balls adds a unique touch.
