Banana soup is one of the most popular traditional dishes, enjoyed during the cold winter months in warm conditions. Making soup dishes like this is the choice of many people. Actually, banana soup is identical to a soupy dish cooked with palm sugar and spices. However, there are a few things to note, banana soup that is made in this way is usually only good with certain banana ingredients. Usually, local people like us prepare it with kepok bananas. These bananas tend to have a slightly sweet and acidic flavor, and their shape is denser, making them very tasty to make into soup.
While palm sugar banana soup has a flavor similar to that of a beverage, in our hinterland, we don't consider it a beverage. We usually enjoy this as an appetizer or dessert to warm up the body on a tired day. Well while I made this dish to settle my stomach, because of the nausea. Bananas as we know can relieve a little diarrhea, but I do not have bananas that can be enjoyed directly. I had pisang kepok bananas available, so my mom suggested that I process these bananas into palm sugar soup, which I will enjoy very much later.
Ingredients used
10 grams of palm sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cm cinnamon
1 star anise flower
2 pandan leaves
500 liters of water
Making Procedure
Heat the water, add the concluded pandan leaves and then add palm sugar.
Add spices, cinnamon and star anise. Add salt and let it cook until it boils.
While waiting for the soup to boil, I prepared the banana, and cut the banana into small pieces.
Now after the soup boils, add the banana pieces and cook until the banana is cooked, well this process should not overcook the banana it will be mushy and broken.
Portion
Banana soup is ready to be served, well this recipe is only for one serving, so if you want more you can just add the composition of the ingredients. I made it a little bit my mom doesn't really like this soup, usually mom prepares it for dad only.
