My Uziza And Okra Soup Is Ready.., Let's Enjoy It.., Yummy..!

Hello everyone,

Food, water and air are the foundation for every living. Both human beings, plants and animals all know this, and are always participating in the scramble for these three essential commodities in the place of air, food and water on daily basis without fail.

They're the three most popular essential elements of life and living. They're the basics of staying alive, being strong and energetic. Any one that has refused to participate in the intake of these three items, will surely die.

You will first of all think about food and how to get them, before even thinking about quality food and a very quality well balanced food and it's balancing aspects. Eating of some food daily is very inevitable.

Everything we are admiring or getting in life are very important, but getting and eating quality food tops them all, because only being alive and a healthy living and lifestyle can guarantee you any space for work and working. Therefore, eating quality and good food is a guarantee for perfect reasoning, fruitful activities and productive life style.

In Africa, we eat what's known as Soup and Swallow.
I know in abroad and maybe many other parts of the world, people don't swallow fufu and soup at all but in this part of the world, that's majorly how we eat.

In the South Eastern region of Nigeria where I come from, precisely Abia State, we make soups of all kinds and use different types of swallow to eat them to stay both strong, energetic and healthy.

There are so many kinds of vegetables we use for making our soups, there are uncountable types of these vegetables like

Pumpkin leaves...ugu,
Bitter leave..olugbu
Uziza leaves... uziza.
Utazi leaves...utazi
Uha leaves.. ..uha,
Water leaves...water leaves,
Ukazi leaves....ukazi,
Ahihara leaves.... Ahihara,
Nturukpa leaves... Nturukpa,
Saint leaves...nchuanwu.

And quiet a lot of edible leaves we use regularly to make our soups to swallow with so many kinds of swallows too.

We have Swallows like
Fufu, garri, pounded yam, amala, starch, semovita, semolina, did you also know that you can grind oatmeal and turn it into swallow?, we have also weath, milet can be turned into swallow too, dried and grinded maize can become swallow, grinded milet can be turned into swallow and so, so many of them as you like them.

You can also choose them as your body system can admit or can accommodate per time, because if you force yourself into what's not necessarily acceptable into your body, you will become seriously ill.

In order to avoid that, you need to monitor and guide yourself on only those foods and those swallows that are good and okay for your body component so that you can keep fit and keep being valuable to yourself and in life generally.

TODAY, I'M COOKING UZIZA AND OKRA SOUP WITH GARRI SWALLOW OR ANY OTHER SWALLOW YOU CHOOSE

A typical soup from the South Eastern region of Nigeria, the Igbos, precisely Abia State, Nigeria.

Ingredients for my uziza leaves and okra soup


The whole lot of the ingredients including steamed beef meat and two balls of onions, a tea table spoon of salt, Maggie cubes are all here to make it tasty and awesome


Unblended crayfish.

Unsliced okra

Sliced okra.

Unsliced uziza leaves.


Slized uziza leaves.

Red oil.

Blended crayfish.

Fresh pepper.

Method Of Preparation/Cooking


I lighed up my gas cooker, placed my pot for the soup, added water and my meat to boil but remember that these meat had been steamed before now, I'm just adding them to the soup water


My red oil being addded into my pot of soup.


My steamed meat for the soup very ready for the journey, this was before I added them into the soup.


I was adding the steamed meat into my pot with a measure of water for the soup, not the stalk yet..


My meat has been steamed and is added into the pot of soup with a sizeable measure of water


Here, i added blended pepper into the soup..


I added some cubes of Maggie to taste.


I added my blended crayfish into my uziza soup.


I now added my sliced uziza leaves into my soup.


I now added my sliced onions and my sliced okra and stirred my soup. You can see the beauty of the tasty stuff I'm preparing

My uziza leaves and okra soup is very much ready for enjoyment now
