The love of the parents should not depart from the children. We should love our children irrespective of how they are. We are not to decide our love for our children based on their reaction to us. We are the parents and must always be loving and caring towards our parents.
Matthew 7:9-11 (KJV) Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?_**
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Bro Eli Soriano told us not to discriminate in the way we relate in love to our children. He told us to love them, not minding how they are. We must love our children. Looking at the illustration that Jesus gave in the Bible when He was illustrating the love of God to us, the Lord Jesus said that a father cannot give his child stone when he is looking for bread or serpent when he is asking for fish. This illustrates that as parents we should love our children.
Also, as children of God, our Father in heaven, we should love our children whether they are good or bad. Bro Eli told us that God makes His rain and sun to shine for both the wicked and the righteous. So, if God loves both the wicked and the righteous we should also love our children.
