Travel Post 25 - Dongmen Pedestrian Street In Shenzhen, China

in TravelFeed3 days ago

Hi there. In this travel post our group head out to Dongmen Pedestrian Street in Shenzhen South China.

Getting To Dongmen Pedestrian Street

The station you want to get to is Laojie Station from either Line 1 (in green) or Line 3 (in light blue). Here is the Shenzhen metro map.

Once you exit Laojie station it can be a bit tricky to find the shopping area. I don't remember which exit to go to. You would have to ask around. You are at the right place if you see a mall, a McDonalds and other shopping outlet malls.

Various Pictures

I wish I took more pictures and had taken better notes. In the Dongmen Pedestrian street area there are many stores, street food vendors, shopping outlets, Sun Plaza Mall, a McDonalds and more. This area is a highly walkable shopping area. A lot of shopping options to choose from.

Grass Jelly Asian Dessert

We did come across a food shop that sold grass jelly dessert. Grass jelly is very beneficial as it helps reduce blood pressure, balance blood sugar and protect against diabetes and liver disease. I needed this dessert at the time as I suffered a cough and cold for most of the China trip until this point in time.

McDonalds In Shenzhen's Dongmen Pedestrian Street Area

McDonalds in China is much better than McDonalds in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area. You can order fried chicken and a pick your own bucket. Here are a few pictures.

Russian Store With Sweets, Drinks and Candy

There is a Russian store that sells sweets, drinks and candy. As China & Russia have strong relations it is not that surprising to see a Russian food store in Shenzhen, South China.

Random Photo Of Mercure Hotel Delivery Robot

From my files I found another picture of a robot from the Mercure Hotel. I forgot to put this photo in my Meiyu Hotel review. This robot kind of looks cool with the painted exterior on it. It is heading towards the elevator.
