When a smile enjoys pizzas | The Hive Pizza Monthly Contest January 2026 Edition [EN-ES]

Hello pizza lovers!

I find myself waking up to another day at the train station in my city. Time seems to stand still for a moment, and I suddenly have a craving to go to one of the kiosks and buy a pizza because, as you all know, I love them.

I order a Neapolitan pizza, of course, knowing full well that it's nothing like the real Neapolitan pizzas in New York or even Naples itself, Italy, but my imagination still takes flight and I savor it with great pleasure, especially since every day in my country it becomes harder to eat pizza due to the rising cost of everything (imagine that a pound of local cheese now costs over 700 pesos. To give you an idea of ​​what that means for the average Cuban, consider that I, as a psychology professional, earn barely 5,300 pesos a month, so do the math and you'll get the picture).

But anyway, let's not get sidetracked. While I wait for my pizza, I watch the people passing by and imagine their life stories... A train approaches the platform and I picture myself already on its railing, heading to a place where my heart beats in a broken way.

I'm still daydreaming and luckily they serve me a mamey smoothie to quench my thirst and help me think about something else.

The pizza finally arrives. Plenty of cheese with an extra treat: ham between the layers. Absolutely delicious!

As I prepare to slice it to savor it at my leisure, I think about nominating someone for this initiative that @hivetrending always brings us.

And I've discovered someone special who has begun to experience the emotions that the world of Hive allows us to feel.

I'm referring to @krismararreaza, a girl with a spectacular brilliance and talent who undoubtedly deserves to be nominated.

So, I'm taking this opportunity, motivated by the contest that @hivetrending is bringing us this month, to officially nominate @krismararreaza, a girl who loves drawing and pizza like many of us and who will surely be thrilled to know she deserves such a distinction.

Her name is Krismar Arreaza, she is eleven years old and she is originally from Venezuela.

Here's a sample I took from her blog so we can all witness her sensitivity in gifting a drawing to her teacher, Isaura Guevara, on her birthday. How can we not be touched by a child capable of doing something like this?

Me descubro un nuevo día otra vez en la terminal de ferrocarriles de mi ciudad. El tiempo se detiene eternamente por un instante y se me antoja ir a una de sus instalaciones para comprar una pizza pues, como ustedes ya saben, me encantan.

Ordeno una pizza Napolitana, por supuesto, conociendo que no se parece en nada a las reales Napolitanas de New York o la mismísima Nápoles en Italia, pero igual la imaginación vuela y la degusto con todo placer, mucho más cuando cada día en mi país se hace más difícil poder comer pizza por el encarecimiento de todos los precios (imagínense que una libra de queso criollo ya supera los 700 pesos de valor. Para que tengan una idea de cuánto significa esa cifra para el bolsillo del cubano, consideren que yo, como profesional de la psicología gano apenas unos 5300 pesos al mes, así que saquen ustedes la cuenta y se harán una idea).

Pero bueno, no nos disgreguemos. En lo que espero me sirvan la pizza, observo a las personas que transitan de un sitio a otro y me imagino historias de vida... Un tren se aproxima al andén y me visualizo ya encima de su estructura férrea camino a un sitio donde mi corazón permanece latiendo de modo fracturado.

Sigo divagando y por suerte me sirven un batido de mamey para que vaya calmando la sed y me disponga a pensar en otra cosa.

Llega la pizza finalmente. Queso en abundancia con un regalo extra, jamón entre capa y capa. ¡Toda una delicia!

Mientras me dispongo a trocearla para degustarla con calma, pienso entonces en nominar a alguien para esta iniciativa que siempre nos regala @hivetrending

Y descubro a alguien especial que ha iniciado a vivir las emociones que el mundo de Hive nos permite vivenciar.

Me refiero a @krismararreaza, una niña con un brillo y talento espectacular que son dudas merece sea nominada.

Así, aprovecho para, en esta ocasión y motivado por el concurso que nos trae @hivetrending en este mes, nominar oficialmente a @krismararreaza, niña amante del arte del dibujo y de las pizzas al igual que muchos de nosotros y que seguramente se emocionará al saberse merecedora de tal distinción.

Ella se llama Krismar Arreaza, tiene once años y es oriunda de Venezuela.

Acá pueden ver una muestra que tomé de su blog para que seamos testigos de su sensibilidad al regalarle un dibujo a su maestra Isaura Guevara en su cumpleaños. ¿Cómo no emocionarse ante una niña capaz de hacer algo similar?
