We managed to get into dark cove after motoring for the entire day from Princess Lousia Inlet.
l forced myself to get up and get some drone shots - l had to, otherwise we would leave and l would forget about this bay. Well it was a very foggy and l thought it was a cool site.

Dark cove:
Dark Cove is a secluded coastal inlet in British Columbia, located near Egmont and Earls Cove. It offers a tranquil and picturesque setting, surrounded by lush forests and rugged shoreline. The area is known for its pristine waters, making it a great spot for fishing, kayaking, and wildlife viewing. Due to its remote location, it provides an escape from urban life, attracting adventurers and nature lovers.
The cove has also gained some recognition for its role in the 2016 thriller Dark Cove, a film about a camping trip gone wrong. While it remains relatively undiscovered compared to more popular BC destinations, there are reports of private properties in the area, so visitors should be mindful of land ownership and local regulations. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure or a quiet retreat, Dark Cove is a hidden gem along the rugged coast of British Columbia.
Before entering this cove, we did our usual routine of checking out some reviews. We stumbled upon something interesting—apparently, there’s a small house here with an owner who claims this bay is his and doesn’t take kindly to people anchoring in "his" waters.
Now, we’ve never encountered someone who "owns a bay" before. It’s like saying, I own this slice of the ocean, which is both amusing and a little puzzling. But, not wanting to stir up any trouble, we decided to anchor as far away from the house as possible—just to respect his space and keep the peace. We didn’t bother going ashore, either.
Soon after we lifted our anchor and left dark cove...
