Y hoy comencé una nueva etapa, una etapa que me ayuda a salir un poco de casa y sobre todo. Me hace olvidar un poco la tristeza que tengo y es que la cocina, las tortas y los postres siempre me han salvado y está vez no será la excepción. Ya que hace aproximadamente un mes ví una publicación de una escuela de cocina que abriría sus puertas en la isla. Pero que tiene más de 20 años de trayectoria en el resto del país y comente que quería seguir estudiando. Y una prima decidió ayudarme a pagar estos estudios y yo por mi parte he estado vendiendo porciones de tortas también para reunir y pagar un poco de todos los gastos que tendré.
And today I began a new chapter, one that helps me get out of the house a bit, and above all, helps me forget the sadness I've been feeling. Cooking, cakes, and desserts have always been my salvation, and this time will be no exception. About a month ago, I saw a post about a cooking school opening on the island. It has over 20 years of experience in the rest of the country, and I commented that I wanted to continue my studies. A cousin decided to help me pay for these studies, and I've also been selling slices of cake to help cover some of the expenses.
Me tocó el turno de la tarde en esta escuela, aunque está en un lugar que suelo visitar bastante no estaba segura de la dirección así que fui usando Google maps y llegué al lugar donde estoy segura que aprenderé mucho.
I got the afternoon shift at this school, although it's in a place I usually visit quite often, I wasn't sure of the address so I used Google Maps and arrived at the place where I'm sure I'll learn a lot.
Al llegar a la escuela primero pase por el área de administración para que me dieran mi comprobante de pago de la inscripción y cancelando la mensualidad y el uniforme. Me dieron la camisa que usaremos en clases. Estaba realmente feliz porque quiero seguir estudiando y aprendiendo mucho.
When I arrived at school, I first went to the administration office to get my registration payment receipt and pay for the monthly tuition and uniform. They gave me the shirt we'll wear in class. I was really happy because I want to continue studying and learning a lot.
En el mensaje que nos habían pasado antes de llegar a la escuela es que debíamos ir con una camisa blanca. Claro al llegar ellos nos dieron la del uniforme que tiene el logo de la escuela y por supuesto que yo al cambiarme en el baño me tomé una foto con mi uniforme.
The message we received before arriving at school said we should wear a white shirt. Of course, when we arrived, they gave us the uniform shirt with the school logo, and naturally, after changing in the bathroom, I took a picture of myself in my uniform.
Algo que me pareció hermoso es que al sentarnos en nuestros lugares, teníamos un obsequio o mejor dicho dos. Teníamos un postre que realizó la chef que nos dará clases y también nos regalaron una pequeña bolsa con algunos dulces y unas boquillas, en este caso la boquilla que nos regalaron fue una boquilla 1M que es de las más usadas en la repostería.
Something I found lovely was that when we sat down, we received a gift, or rather two. We had a dessert made by the chef who will be teaching us, and we were also given a small bag with some candies and piping tips. In this case, the tip they gave us was a 1M tip, which is one of the most commonly used in baking.
El director de la escuela estuvo hablando bastante y dejándonos en claro todas las normas y el funcionamiento de la escuela. Luego la chef comenzó a hablar y a darnos un poco de teoría sobre los postres y todo lo que iremos aprendiendo a lo largo de estás clases.

Los nuevos comienzos siempre dan un poco de miedo, y es que estar sin estudiar por muchos años y luego volver a estudiar nunca es fácil. Y puede que yo tenga conocimientos en la repostería pero aquí decidí hacer como que no se nada y absorber toda la información que nos den.
New beginnings are always a little scary, and going years without studying and then returning to it is never easy. I may have some baking experience, but here I decided to pretend I know nothing and absorb all the information they give us.
Luego de terminar las clases el director y la chef se tomaron algunas fotos con todo el grupo. Ya una vez cuando estudie hace muchos años compartí mi proceso aquí y ahora que comencé a estudiar nuevamente les iré compartiendo como va este proceso y todo lo que vaya aprendiendo.
