Hello everyone!
Greetings!
The day, Sunday, was a great one — one that came and ended on a peaceful note.
As usual, I went to church in the morning. I was a bit late, and I was laughed at for coming late. Although it was not as if I was too late, it’s just that I did not meet the actual time we were supposed to be present. The church service lasted as if it was never going to end, but it ended at last, and I was dead hungry.
On our way from church, the vehicle I followed stopped at the market for one of the ladies to get some food items, and I took the opportunity to stop and get some beef.
When I got home, I did not waste time; I went straight into the kitchen and made myself breakfast and lunch together. Mehn, the cooking process was very quick! I do not know, but I have a way of making food quickly whenever I am hungry. Yes, I am not the type that wastes time or sleeps in the kitchen while cooking. I ate and fell on my bed instantly. There was no electricity, but I have a solar rechargeable standing fan, so I put it on and dozed off.
Around 4 p.m., my neighbour came and woke me up and said we should go and pay a condolence visit to a 'mama' who has a shop close to our house because she lost her husband, who had been sick for many years. I wanted to procrastinate about going, but I saw that it was the best opportunity to go and pay her a visit since we were going together and, besides, I did not know the address of the mama's house. I got up, dressed up, and we headed to the unknown address, although my neighbour only picked up a description from someone who knows the place, but he does not know it himself.
It was a walk that stretched the muscles in our legs because the farther we went, the more the location seemed still deep and unknown. Luckily for us, it was in the evening, and the sun had come down already, so there was no cause for alarm about the hot sun and heat. After about 35 minutes of walking — what we thought would take just a 10-minute walk — we got there, met some elderly women in the compound who also came to pay condolences, stayed with the family for about 20 minutes, and then headed back home. The walk back home was quicker and easier because we had mastered the road.
