My stay away from home is not over yet. I have mentioned on previous occasions that I went on a trip with my family to the city of Barinas, from where I have also visited other states, such as Mérida, where I already showed you the Mucubají Lagoon. In addition, I have visited other places in the city of Barinas, where I have focused mainly on showing places with Christmas decorations and lights. It is pleasant to spend quality time with the family; without a doubt, this is something I recommend to get away from the daily routine and, in that sense, to be able to strengthen the bonds we have with our loved ones. Thus, spending quality time together is still important, and although we may have few opportunities to do so during the year, we must take advantage of this month to reactivate all those energies that we suddenly did not have time to nurture during the year due to our occupations, work, and daily life.

Last night we went for a walk around the “twin shopping malls” in the city of Barinas. I say twin because they are right next to each other: one of them is the Cima Shopping Mall, while the other is the El Dorado Shopping Mall. In the photos, you will see the spaces at Cima, a place that is decorated with some Christmas elements; perhaps not as exaggerated as the ones I have shown before, but it certainly has its Christmas aura. Later, you will see photos of the El Dorado Shopping Center. Although it does not have too many lights either, Christmas was felt through decorations and elements that remind us that we are in an important season.

After visiting these two places, which were quite simple but had their own charm, we decided to go eat something different. That's how we ended up at a place where we could buy a real shawarma, prepared with all the traditional ingredients, since the restaurant is run by people of Arab origin. We also bought a double cheeseburger that was incredible. Perhaps the best part of the night was the food. The shawarma had an outstanding flavor and was very well done with chicken and beef, while the hamburger was impressive, with two patties so huge that it was almost impossible to bite into it; we had to maneuver to be able to eat it. We accompanied both dishes with an Arabic paprika sauce and natural yogurt. It was an experience that, honestly, we had never had in such a traditional way, and we were very pleased to find this place run by its owners, who are from the Middle East.

It was undoubtedly a very special night where we were able to walk around, admire beautiful lights, and enjoy a delicious meal. I wanted to share this experience where the lights never stop shining. I'm not sure if I'll continue sharing more places with Christmas decorations, but I think it's been enough for now to show what this time of year feels like in the region where I live. It was a pleasure to share this night of my life with you. See you next time!
