Good evening, blog friends, how was your Easter? As always during the holidays, we went to lunch at my mother-in-law's, who is truly an excellent cook! As always, she created a fantastic menu, even too much for three people! As soon as we arrived, we immediately peeked at what she had prepared for us. In one pan was her classic Southern Italian-style lasagna with mozzarella, sausage, ragù, and béchamel sauce, and in another, cooked rigatino. But the surprises didn't end there, because in the oven there was also maiale en crosta, pork cooked in bread and wine and wrapped in bacon slices, a truly super delicacy! Of course, we immediately helped ourselves to generous portions of lasagna. It was delicious, but I had no doubts. I was honestly already full from the lasagna, but of course we tried the rest too. Or rather, my husband also had the rigatino, and I settled for a slice of pork en crosta with potatoes that I struggled to finish! Then for dessert we also had some pastries, cream puffs and semifreddo. I also tried one of those out of courtesy, while my mother-in-law had two, getting a few scoldings because she suffers from diabetes and doesn't pay much attention to her diet, not just for holidays!

Como siempre, preparó un menú fantástico, ¡incluso demasiado para tres personas! Nada más llegar, echamos un vistazo a lo que había preparado. En una bandeja estaba su clásica lasaña al estilo del sur de Italia con mozzarella, salchicha, ragú y salsa bechamel, y en otra, rigatoni cocinado. Pero las sorpresas no terminaron ahí, porque en el horno también había maiale en crosta, cerdo cocinado en pan y vino y envuelto en lonchas de beicon, ¡una auténtica delicia! Por supuesto, enseguida nos servimos raciones generosas de lasaña. Estaba deliciosa, pero no tenía ninguna duda. La verdad es que ya estaba llena con la lasaña, pero claro, también probamos el resto. O mejor dicho, mi marido también pidió el rigatoni, y yo me conformé con una porción de maiale en crosta con patatas que me costó mucho terminar. Luego, de postre, también comimos pasteles, profiteroles y semifrío. Then, at the end of lunch, we were so full of food that we decided to take a walk in the village where my mother-in-law lives, Tobbiana, which I've told you about a few times now, but it's been a while since we've been back, and we enjoyed a tour around the area. Meanwhile, spring seemed to have arrived in the village, and I started taking close-up photographs of the flowers, which were very beautiful. I really love spring. Then we continued walking through some streets, and on one of the houses I found a very cute wooden sign that I absolutely want, too. It read, "A spoiled cat lives here." Well, I have three spoiled cats at home, though. After the walk through the village, feeling a little lighter, we set off again, enjoying the spring views along the way. It was a beautiful and pleasant Easter!
Después del almuerzo, estábamos tan llenos que decidimos dar un paseo por Tobbiana, el pueblo donde vive mi suegra, del que ya les he hablado varias veces, pero hacía tiempo que no volvíamos. Disfrutamos mucho del recorrido. Mientras tanto, la primavera parecía haber llegado al pueblo, y empecé a fotografiar de cerca las flores, que eran preciosas. Me encanta la primavera. Seguimos caminando por algunas calles, y en una de las casas encontré un cartel de madera muy mono que también quiero. Decía: «Aquí vive un gato mimado». Bueno, en realidad tengo tres gatos mimados en casa.
