In Italy, we do, and in my family, it's tradition to have a big lunch on Epiphany Day with the whole family gathered together—cousins, great-grandchildren, aunts, etc.—at my great-aunt Claudia's house in the village of Montale (which I'll tell you about later, having also taken a short trip there). It was particularly cold today; it was snowing in my village this morning, but my husband, stepdaughter, and I still got dressed up and ready for the Epiphany lunch. This lunch is an important tradition for us, a way to bring the family together, since many of us unfortunately live far away, some in other regions. It's a beautiful tradition that I love very much and that I hope will be kept alive for future generations. The journey to Montale was a bit cold, we even had to make a short stop to pee, and we got caught in quite a bit of wind and rain. Luckily, when we arrived at my great-aunt's house, we were immediately enveloped in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. My great-aunt's house is very large and we are usually divided into several rooms. My aunt always prepares everything with great care: the seats, the place cards, the table, and the ambiance.

It was a wonderful time of collaboration and conviviality, where we also took the opportunity to catch up on the latest news and, like true crafty people, sniff out some crostini. Then, of course, we helped set the table, and those more experienced helped prepare the sauce and main courses. It was a really nice moment, even waiting for the other relatives, which allowed us to calmly chat. I learned a lot of news about my cousins, fortunately almost all positive.
